On 11 October 2024, ASCENZA held its Annual Distribution Meeting - the G80 - in Tomar, where it highlighted two new products developed with activities under the Tec4Green consortium: Matsuda Duo and Biavrio.
During the event, Josué Clemente, ASCENZA's Open Innovation Lead, presented the company's role as leader of the Tec4Green consortium, emphasising the importance of technological innovation in the development of new products.
Biavrio is a natural insecticide obtained through the fermentation of the Saccharopolyspora spinosa bacterium. This product, which is already being commercialised, continues to position itself as an effective solution for crop protection, using a more sustainable approach.
Matsuda Duo is an innovative herbicide with a patented oil dispersion formulation. Designed to control a wide range of grasses and broadleaf weeds, this residual and systemic herbicide can be applied pre- or post-emergence and is aimed at permanent crops such as olive groves and vineyards.
The Tec4Green consortium, made up of 18 organisations, aims to develop solutions that promote sustainability and innovation in the agro-industrial sector.
Among the main objectives of the Mobilising Agenda are the development of biological and hybrid products for crop protection, the implementation of digital agriculture technologies and the promotion of agronomic decarbonisation. These initiatives are in line with the principles of the circular economy and the valorisation of agricultural by-products for the production of green energy.
With this Agenda, the consortium is reaffirming its aim of mobilising the agro-industrial sector to meet the challenges of the future, both technological and environmental, while promoting the sector's sustainability.
