Associação SFCOLAB – Laboratório Colaborativo para a Inovação Digital na Agricultura

SFCOLAB - Laboratório Colaborativo para a Inovação Digital na Agricultura ("SFCOLAB") is a private non-profit organisation based in Torres Vedras with the aim of promoting Digital Innovation in National Agriculture. This association is made up of 18 public and private entities, namely 1 municipality, 9 SMEs, 1 Competence Centre and 7 Universities and R&D Institutes. Faced with the challenges arising from climate change, the digitalisation of farms and the circular economy in small and medium-sized farming systems, through the creation of an intelligent system (SMART FARM) that promotes socio-economic development and the acquisition of skills, is an unavoidable goal. With this in mind, SFCOLAB's mission is to generate innovative and automated digital solutions for the efficient management of resources such as soil, water and plant protection products, and to maximise the added value of national horticultural, fruit-growing and viticultural products. Seeking to contribute to improving the performance of agricultural activity, it structures its activities around the development of intelligent and sustainable agriculture, combining a component of applied science and a strong presence of companies from the sectors involved, to respond to advances in agricultural production and management, but also the training and employability needs in the sector. SFCOLAB aims to be the benchmark for Digital Agriculture.
