COTHN - Centro Operativo e Tecnológico Hortofrutícola Nacional

About this Member

The Centro Operativo Tecnológico Hortofrutícola Nacional - Centro de Competências ("COTHN-CC") is a non-profit association set up in 2001, based in Alcobaça, with the aim of promoting the development of the national fruit and vegetable sector, especially through applied research, improving the level of knowledge in the sector, deepening cooperation and partnership and dignifying and qualifying agents and products. As an interface centre, the COTHN-CC aims to support production, in this case horticulture, in increasing its knowledge of alternative crop protection solutions that will help the sector meet the challenges posed by the goals of the Farm to Fork strategy. The COTHN-CC coordinates several Operational Groups relevant to the Agenda, namely MaisSolo, HortInf and FitoAgro. The COTHN-CC's contribution to the Agenda in question will therefore essentially be to disseminate and publicise the Agenda's results in the national fruit and vegetable sector, while also seeking to define the technical itineraries for the new solutions to be developed within the Consortium, in close interaction with its vast and diverse range of members, including agricultural organisations, teaching and research institutions, agro-industrial companies, among others.
